KB Chronicals
Gratz to Stabit & Braveheartz !
Congratz to both players for recently completing their 1.5 epics and many thanks to all for helping both players with their epic raids.
Lots of players are trying to do their epic raids lately so it is important that we configure some type of schedule so we can all help out our fellow guildies and to prevent the raids from overlapping.
Keep up the great work!
Congratulations Utandaydar & Ravenmoon Morose !
Please join us as we congratulate Utan & Raven on their exchanging of wedding vows on 1/22/08 !
A Message from Emusaurus:
Emmy here,
I'm working around with the site a little, so if it dramatically changes, don't be surprised.
We finally have an in-game chat channel, to join just type /join knightsblade and /autojoin knightsblade to have it auto-join you when you log on.
Everyone should be trying to get the parts of their VT keys, up to Emp S. If you're confused and need help, feel free to ask a fellow guildy or officer, that's what we're all here for.
There's two new posts in the forums that everyone should read, regarding raid etiquette; remember, singular actions reflect upon the guild as a whole, always act with honor and respect to Everyone.
READ THIS AND PLEASE RESPOND! THIS MESSAGE HAS WONDERFUL RAIDING IMPLICATIONS.
There are many skilled and wonderful KB members. Many of us have not had the chance to raid very often, and would really like to change that. Some things can only be accomplished in EQ with a raid force. Our skills in groups are undeniable! We rock! Raiding, can be an entirely different experience than grouping, as you all surely know. We as a guild really need to hone our raiding skills, or learn some new skills. [I will be developing a raiding post shortly that I believe will be a very valuable tool to our guild].
Q. Why is learning the proper do's and don'ts of raiding important?
A. There is an unwritten EQ raiding culture that can get your character permanently banned from guilds or groups should you unknowingly do something against that cultural. For example: looting when you shouldn't, aggroing a mob when you shouldn't, healing when you shouldn't, not listening to raid leader, talking in raid channel, pulling mobs onto the raid (on accident), Not knowing your characters role on a raid and/or fulfilling what is expected of you, etc, etc. There is a huge list.
Kryil, and our other officers, have developed a wonderful plan, and I support it completely. The problem we face in KB at the moment, is that we have enough people on to do some really cool content (don't you wish there were more to the game than HoH? I assure you there is =)). Unfortunately, we do not have the needed classes to raid. I as a necromancer raise my hand to solute the other 20 necromancers in our guild, heya!
Here is the proposed and accepted plan. We would all love to play our mains when we raid. But, with 20 necromancers, one shd, a druid, a cleric, and a mage, we can't be successful. So, what we need from each of us is a willingness to either play an alt, get an alt pl'd, or develop a currently existing alt for raiding purposes. First off, we would like your main, but if we are short a few classes, then you would jump to that character for the raid. This way, we get to develop some sweet raiding skills, and the guild gets to progress.
So what do we need from everyone right now? In answer to this post we need you to list:
1). Your current main, class, and level.
2). Your current alts, class, and level.
3). Current alts you would be willing, or have a desire to play.
4). Or, any additional class that you would be willing to start fresh and get pl'd.
KB officers will look through these lists, determine which classes we need. Then they will contact each of us and verify that we are willing to play the class needed.
So, how does this work?
Say we have a raid on Monday night from 7-11pm est. We all log on, and are ready to raid the Emperor in SSRA. It appears that of our mains we have 1 shadowknight, 6 necros, 1 cleric, 2 druids, and 3 bards, 4 berzerkers, 2 rogues, and 3 wizards (our skills being as amazing as they are, we knowingly could send in the shd, and then come and loot our rifts, sadly leaving the rest of us out of the action =)). So, we have a problem. We cannot be successful with only these classes. We need tanks, healers, slowers, and crowd control. We then determine which classes we need. Say we need 3 warriors, 1 shaman, 1 beastlord, 1 mage, 2 enchanters, 1 paladin, 2 rangers, 1 monk, and 4 clerics(forgive the math, and me leaving out any classes). We all have alts that have been guild pl'd and geared up, and that we have stated willingness to play. We then would log off our mains, and play on an alt for the raid.
This is not making anyone switch their main characters. This is a plan to develop an alt to play during raid times, in the chance that a certain class is needed.
This mostly effects Necromancers. If your main is currently a tank, healer, or CC, then you will probably be just fine playing your main character. And under no circumstances will anyone be forced to do this. It is strictly voluntary and for fun, and the betterment of the guild.
